How do I get to Thulusdhoo from Malé?

The MTCC public ferry, route 308, leaves Malé city once a day except Friday in the early afternoon and takes about 90 minutes; the fare is 22 rufiyaa, about US$1.50, cash only. Scheduled shared speedboats leave from both Malé and the airport several times a day, take around 25–30 minutes and cost about US$30 per person one way, more for a private transfer. Most guesthouses will coordinate the speedboat for you, ask when you book.

When is the best time to surf Cokes and Chickens?

The main season runs roughly March to October, when southwest-monsoon swell reaches both breaks, with the biggest and most consistent waves from June to August. The edges of the season, March and April at the start and October at the end, tend to bring smaller, friendlier surf and less crowd pressure. From November into the northeast-monsoon dry season the swell is smaller and less dependable; those months are calmer overall and better for snorkelling and diving if surfing is not the priority.

What should I know about Thulusdhoo as an inhabited island?

Thulusdhoo is a working Maldivian community, not a resort island. Modest dress is expected in the village, cover shoulders and knees away from the designated bikini beach. Alcohol is not sold or served on the island itself; guesthouses are dry. Some operators run offshore sandbank trips where drinks may be available, but there is no resort bar on the island. The local welcome for surfers and divers is genuine, and the community atmosphere is one of the reasons people return.

How much does a stay in Thulusdhoo cost?
